What Status Brief is
Status Brief produces an automated summary of an Ontario condominium status certificate package that you upload. It reports what the documents say and on which page, and it lists questions you may want to ask.
What it is not
It is not legal advice, financial advice or a home inspection, and it is not a lawyer's review of your status certificate. Using it does not create a lawyer-client relationship with anyone. The summary is made by software and can miss or misread information. Do not rely on it alone. Give the full package to your Ontario real estate lawyer before you waive any condition or make any decision about a purchase.
Your upload
Only upload documents you are entitled to share. Do not upload anything other than a status certificate package.
Price and refunds
A brief costs $19 in Canadian dollars per package, charged when you choose to have the file read. Before you pay, the file is checked for free. If the file turns out not to be a status certificate package, or the reading fails, the payment is refunded automatically.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Status Brief's total liability for any claim about a brief is limited to the amount you paid for that brief. Status Brief is not responsible for decisions made using a brief.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
